I could have Titled this Page, "He's Seen The Movie." Read on, you'll understand shortly.

The other night, I was winding down and tuning around on the TV and ran into a movie I hadn’t seen in a while. It was late and I thought, well I’ll just watch for a little and go to bed. The movie was called "Frequency" and stared Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel, as a father and son separated by 30 years and the fathers death.

As happens in the story, the two are connected through a miraculous short wave radio and in this cross-time link, are able to speak with each other. The first thing that happens, once they realize who they each are, is the son is able to warn his father and prevent his death in a warehouse fire. Well, this changes history for both, obviously, and leads to more complications, because the father didn’t die.

I won’t go to much further into the story, except to say that it gets pretty interesting.

But it was getting late, and the movie was on one of those Cable Stations where the commercials breaks seem to go on forever, and I decided to turn it off and go to bed. As I did, I was saying to myself, "I’ve seen the movie, and it all works out in the end."

And then it hit me, God has seen The Movie and it all works out in the end. He has seen The Movie that is my life and knows that everything is going to work out well at the end.

And like Jim Caviezel’s character, who’s helping and guiding his dad through the short wave set, God is helping and guiding us through His Word, The Bible, and the words He speaks to us daily, if we only tune Him in.

Think of it, this is a God who knew when He talked through the Prophets in the Bible, what was going to happen. He knew the Israelites were going to fall short of what He was asking them to do. He knew He was going to have to send them a Savior, His Son Jesus.

He knew which of us would follow Him even.

We were chosen to follow Him long before we were even born…

Read Ephesians 1:4-5,

  • 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love 5 He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will,

It’s hard to imagine, but God sits outside time and space. He sees all that was, all that is and all that will be. He knows what is going to work best in our lives.

Jesus knew the future for Peter when He said in John 21:18-19,

  • 18 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not. 19 Now this he spake, signifying by what manner of death he should glorify God.

And He knew what Peter would do that last night before the crucifixion, from Matthew 26:34,

  • Jesus said to him, "Truly I say to you that this very night, before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times."

And that is exactly what happened.

When we are in trouble and wondering what to do, we can take comfort in the knowledge that God knows what is best for us, and if we let Him, He will lead us safely through the times of trials.

Read Romans 8:27-28,

  • 27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God's own will. 28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

The other day, I was driving across town, it was a sunny afternoon, and I had a little winter dirt on my windshield. As I was entering a short tunnel on the freeway, the sun was shining right in front of me. For a second, I was blinded by the light coming through my dirty windshield. I couldn’t see the road ahead of me. For that split second, I had to trust that if I just kept going straight, I would be all right. And of course, I was.

It can be the same when we are walking with the Lord. Sometimes we are blinded temporarily either by His Glory or by the trials that are before us. We can’t see the road ahead. What was clear before, is suddenly more then unclear, the road is just gone. But if we Trust in the Lord, and keep going straight, we will be just fine.

God knows the end of the story that is our lives. If we are walking with Him, He knows we will be with Him in the end, and He knows that even if we are temporarily blinded, we can stay on the road and be all right if we just trust Him.

He’s seen the movie, and it all comes out right in the end. But like any good movie, there will be highs and lows, bumps and shakes as we move through it, but God will get us to the happy ending.

1 John 3:20

  • because if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

John 12:44-50

  • 44 Jesus shouted to the crowds, "If you trust me, you are really trusting God who sent me. 45 For when you see me, you are seeing the one who sent me. 46 I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the darkness."

And if you need one more, read Matthew 6:25-34

  • 25 "For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 "Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? 27 "And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? 28 "And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, 29 yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. 30 "But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! 31 "Do not worry then, saying, `What will we eat?' or `What will we drink?' or `What will we wear for clothing?' 32 "For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34 "So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

So, when you’re worried, just remember, God knows all things, knows what you need and will provide the best for you. It may be different then you imagined, but it will be the best for you.

He has seen the movie and knows how it ends.
