E-Mails
We all seem to get these E-mails every so often, you know the ones. They have a good message,
very often a Christian message, and they almost always end with something like this:
Pass this message on and something good will happen to you.
Some even go so far as to say:
- Forward it to 1 friend and something good will happen today.
- Forward it to 5 friends and great things will happen to you through out this week.
- Forward it to 10 friends and wonderful things will happen to you through the next year.
And so on…
And then there are the ones that are almost scary.
- If you don’t pass this on to at least, so many friends, something bad will happen, or nothing good can happen.
I get these kind of messages every so often and most of the time I don’t pass them on, or if I do,
I take out the condition. I look at it this way, if God is going to Bless me, He is going to do it whether or not I pass on
some E-mail. He doesn’t put a condition on His Blessings.
It’s true, that God does Bless people. And the richest Blessing of all is our Salvation through
Jesus Christ and the work He did on the cross. But when He died for us on that tree, the last thing He said was, "It
is Finished."
It’s over, it’s paid for. We are forgiven.
There’s no condition we have to meet, other then to believe in Christ and what He did for us.
So, I can pass on all the E-mail messages in the world, and it doesn’t make God love me anymore then He already does.
If He is going to Bless me, HE is going to Bless me. And at a time and place and manner of His choosing.
In Ephesians 2:8-9, Paul tells us:
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
It almost makes me think that if I pass on such an E-mail, no matter how good its message, that God won’t Bless me,
because I might be tempted to say, "Of course He Blessed me, I sent on this Great E-mail."
But the problem is, if I don’t pass on an E-mail with a good message in it, then I am not sharing my faith.
And I know from the word that we should share our faith. But I don’t like the conditions that most of these E-mails
stick on the end of what would otherwise be a good message. Which is why if I do pass them on, I normally cut out the condition
part. But most of the time, I just read them myself and that’s all I do.
But do feel called to share these messages. So, I feel inspired to create a place on my site to share
them with the world. But I also feel called to take the conditions out of the messages.
And so, below you will find links to pages that contain these E-mails I have received, only slightly edited. If you feel
like copying them and sharing them with others, you have my permission and I’m sure God’s Blessing to do so.
But don’t put a condition on God and any Blessing He wants to do in your life. If you Love God, you should
want to share that Love with others. Don’t put conditions on God’s Love or His Blessings.
Oh, by the way, I have a good friend who most often is the one who passes these kinds of E-mails on to me, and not once
has she ever written back telling me of the wonderful things that have happened to her because she passed on such and such
an E-mail.
I will say, however, that we might expect to be Blessed in one way, but God may Bless in a completely different
way. Remember, each day is and can be a Blessing from God, the warm sun, a blue sky, a child’s laugh, a warm greeting
from a friend and so many other little things are all Blessings.
I say again, God will Bless a person at a time and in a manner of His choosing. I know for a fact that God Has Blessed
me many times and in many ways, before I believed as I do now and will continue to Bless me, but in ways that are best for
Me and for Him.
And so, follow the links below to the different messages I have collected. Pray you will be Blessed and gain insight
through them. And if you feel called to copy them and pass them on to others, do it.
