I am writing this less then 24 hours after the Space Shuttle Columbia broke apart as
it was returning to Earth from a successful mission, killing all Seven Crew members. We are all saddened by what happened.
Many of us sit in disbelief.
I was going to write about something else this week, but the events of today have forced me to change
my plans.
So, I am going to discuss Taking Risks.
We all know the Risks the Astronauts who fly into space take. They Risk their lives, not for money or
power, but for the advancement of Science, for the Exploration of Space and to help us understand our Planet and our place
in the Universe.
They are Bold Adventurers, Explorers and Hero's we can all look up to. They work, not for personal gain,
but for all of us to gain from what they do and learn.
This is Noble.
But what do we Risk?
Surely not our lives. But we do take Risks.
We take Risks every time we join a new program and every time we spend Money to promote our programs and
offers.
We Risk our Money and we Risk more than that.
Every time we join a program and promote it, we Risk Our Reputations, not much to Risk compared to some,
but a Risk none the less.
When we promote something and people join it through us, we have a responsibility to that person to help
them do what we are doing. We become their mentor in a sense.
And if we join bad programs, or promote unethically, we Risk our reputations and lose any respect those
who join us might have for us.
It's nothing to what Astronauts, Soldiers, Police Officers or Fire Fighters and the like Risk.
But we do take Risks.
We Risk losing our Money if the program is bad. We Risk losing our reputations if we promote a bad program.
And to me, that is worse then losing Money.
We all want to achieve success. We want to better our lives and the lives of our families.
And we should want to help others to do the same.
That is what Network Marketing is all about. If we can help enough other people to get what they are looking
for, we will succeed by doing it.
But when we join bad programs, when we jump on something because it promises a lot of Money, when we don't
join something because of the product, when we think of ourselves rather then thinking of others, We Risk losing Everything
We Have Worked For.
Those who lie, cheat and steal their way to riches have lost before they started. The
word gets around, they get branded as a cheat and a liar. They may make a quick Buck, but it won't last. They took a Risk
with their reputations, and they will lose them in the end. They are blinded by their own Greed.
There are all kinds of programs popping up on the Web, almost everyday. Some are run by good honest people.
Some are run by people who are not thinking ahead. Some are run by cheats and liars. You need to know the difference.
We may not Risk our Lives with what we do, but we can put at Risk our future when we join and
promote things that, in our heart we know are full of lies and false hopes.
When you are branded as someone who promotes garbage, sooner or later, the word will get out and you will
never be trusted again.
Our Risks are small compared to some that people take in their daily lives, but we must act as if our
lives depended on what we do and how we do it.
Because, if we want to better our future, we must educate ourselves on the Risks we take and make sure
we do what we do honestly. If we don't, our hopes of a better future are dead.
God Bless us all, and give us the wisdom we need to know the good from the bad, the right from
the wrong.
And God Bless and watch over those who are suffering the loss of family or friend this day and
in the days and nights to come. May we learn from our mistakes and move forward with Your Grace and Help.
