If you want to succeed in this business, or in life, you need to think of the Other Guy.

  • In life that might mean, helping someone when they need it.
  • It might mean, thinking more of your spouse and their happiness then your own.
  • It might mean putting your kids needs ahead of your own.
  • It might mean volunteering some of your time to help others.
But when we think of the Other Guy in this business, it means....
  • Helping them
  • Training them
  • Answering their questions
  • Only offering real products or opportunities
The Other Guy in this business is not just the next person who buys from you or joins the opportunity you are promoting. The Other Guy is, has to be, your friend, your partner, your online neighbor, sister or bother.
 
If you are not going to think of the Other Guy, and only think of yourself, then you are in the wrong business. Get out now and stop wasting your time and money.
 
In this business, where we earn from several levels below us, even if it's only one or two, we depend on the Other Guy who joins through us to be successful. If they are not successful, they are not only wasting their time, they are wasting ours.
 
If the Other Guy below us is not successful, we won't be either.
 
You need to think of the Other Guy and do all you can to help them understand the business you are both in and succeed. If they are making money, so are you. And if you have a lot of Other Guys making money under you, you will be successful.
 
Network Marketing or MLM is, by it's nature, a people business. You are not as important as the Other Guys that come in under you. Train them, work with them, help them and they will help you.
 
This doesn't mean doing everything for them. But it does mean showing them how they can do it themselves.
 
Unfortunately, many of the Other Guys who come in under you in this business will not accept your help. They will want to go it alone. They won't listen and if they won't listen, you can't help them.
 
But make the offer. Give them ideas and suggestions even if they don't ask for them. Set up an autoresponder for each of the main programs you're in with those ideas and suggestions and enter Other Guys name into it when they join.
 
Answer any questions they ask, and answer them as fast as you can. Even if the question is a simple one that's covered in the members area of your program, answer it and show them where you found the answer. If you don't know the answer, ask someone above you and then get back to your Other Guy with the answer as soon as you can. You might even let them know you are working on getting the answer if you think it's going to take a while.
 
Be there for the Other Guy.
 
And this also goes for those Other Guys who don't join or buy from you. It shouldn't matter to you whether or not someone who is asking a question of you has joined or bought from you. The fact that they trust you enough to ask, is high praise and you should answer them. And when you do, DO NOT pitch them on your other programs, unless it specifically answers their question.
 
If you want to succeed in this business or any business, you need to think of the Other Guy.
 
Don't think of yourself, think of them.
 
It's like a marriage, I found that even if I wasn't interested in doing something my late wife wanted to do, but went along with what she wanted, I was much better off for it. If I could make her happy, I was happy too.
 
Now, if I do something to make my son happy, even if I'm not crazy about doing it, again, I find that if he's happy, I am happy too.
 
It's the same in this business, if you take the time to make the Other Guy happy, you will be happy too.
 
So, Be Happy... Think of the Other Guy.
