If you have been running around online marketing for any length of time, you have run into Hit Exchanges of one
kind or another...
These programs are either Worthless, or a Great Deal, depending on who you talk to.
And both assessments are correct.
What? How can both be right?
Let me explain...
First, let's take a look at who signs up for these programs?
People who have something to promote, right?
I think we can all agree that anyone using a Hit Exchange of any kind, want's to get traffic to a Website to
generate sales and/or sign ups.
In most advertising, you try and target your ads to the right people. If you're in the home siding business,
you don't want to waste your money contacting people who don't own a home, right? You want to get your ad in front of home
owners because they are part of your target audience.
Well, with any Hit Exchange program you know one thing about the audience, the site viewers, they want visitors
to their Websites, sales and sign ups.
So, what you promote to them through any Hit Exchange is going to determine what kind of results you get. If you are
promoting a product or service that has nothing to do with marketing, you're not going to do as well as someone who is promoting
something that does have something to do with marketing.
Anyone signed up and promoting through any Hit Exchange program wants and needs traffic and sales. So,
if you can offer them something else that will help them get that traffic and increase those sales, you are going to do better
then someone who isn't.
Any marketing tool type program you promote through a Hit Exchange program is going to do better then anything
else, generally speaking.
Bottom line with any Hit Exchange program is this, Think of the people who will be surfing those sites and what they
want and then give it to them. That is, Marketing Tool programs that help them get what they want... Visitors and Sales.
One more thing to take into account when using a Hit Exchange, these people don't have much time to
read whatever site you send them to. They are doing what most of you are doing, surfing for Hits and they have limited time
to spend doing it. So, they are not going to wait around for large pages to load, or spend 10 minutes reading the copy on
your site.
They are gone in 30 seconds to a minute.
So, whatever page you send them to, it has to load quickly, give them enough information to make a decision they want
to know more, in less then a minute. Because that's all the time you've got.
And most people are not going to make a buying decision that fast. So, what can you do?
Well, if the page you are promoting is a lead capture page, you're ahead of the game.
What do I mean by lead capture?
A page that asked the visitor to request more information, by having a form for them to place their name and E-mail
address in so you can send it to them.
Many Marketing tool programs have these kind of pages available and that's great for you. If they do,
then you will know that anyone who places their contact information in the form will be followed up through the program and
you'll stand a better chance at getting a sign up or sale.
If the program you're promoting doesn't have a lead capture page you can use, then you can build your own.
There are places you can get a free Website and they come with easy to use online site builders that, with just a little work,
can leave you with a very nice little page to show off your program.
Plus, if you are using your own site, you have the added advantage of promoting with a site that no one else
has. You will stand out from the crowd.
Then you'll need an autoresponder set up with follow up messages. Again there are places where you can
get a free or low cost responder. They'll have a code you can generate to place on your new Website that will request a name
and E-mail or whatever else you might want for information.
If you can't or don't know how to write follow up messages, just ask someone upline from you in whatever program
you're in, or look through it's members area. Many program offer prewritten text for providing information.
Then just copy and paste that information into your responder. Just personalize the messages and be sure you have your affiliate
URL on them and you're set to go.
So, if you are going to use any Hit Exchange program, target what you are promoting to the people who use them,
and have a way for them to quickly decide to request more information and you'll do much better then most.
The people who think Hit Exchanges are Worthless, are most often promoting the wrong kinds of programs
or using the wrong kinds of sites with them.
Use the right kind of site with the right kind of program, and you will do much better.
Keep in mind that any Hit Exchange type program is not going to make you wealthy over night, they are all going to take
time and work. But if you use them correctly, you can build a business using them.
And, if you pass this kind of information on to others and give them your Hit Exchange affiliate URL's, you'll
gain referrals who's own surfing will help you out.
